About Mac

"Walking and rolling with a story unfolding", Mac Walsh (they/he) is an autistic, transmasculine young adult. Growing up autistic and queer with both their own mental and physical health challenges, as well as the loss of their younger sister to a complex mental health battle, provides them with a unique, deeply personal lens when it comes to helping others.

Throughout their journey, Mac has found themselves navigating the intersectional identities of disability, queerness, grief, and mental health. Driven by lived experience, they strive to be the representation they needed growing up by sharing their story of hope and resilience, helping others feel less alone and empowered to embrace their authentic selves.

They are passionate about fostering belonging and highlighting the transformative power of the right support. Through adaptive sports, Mac discovered a world of possibility. What once felt out of reach became a space of confidence, connection, and community, reinforcing that access is not about lowering expectations, but about removing barriers and building environments where everyone can thrive.

Mac has collaborated on panels and advocacy initiatives with organizations including ISABC, AutismBC, Take Me Outside, Easter Seals Alberta, and Canmore Pride. They are a graduate of the Education Assistant Program at Bow Valley College and were recently a cast member in Season 1 of CBC’s The Assembly. In their spare time, Mac enjoys building Lego, playing trombone and trying all things adaptive!
